Workshop on Design Thinking and Innovation for CBSE teachers. PS Senior hosts. – MYLAPORE TIMES
A one-day workshop on Design Thinking and Innovation was conducted by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, New Delhi in collaboration with the CBSE on Sept. 17 and hosted by PS Senior Secondary School. This was attended by many teachers from CBSE schools across Chennai.
The CBSE Board is committed to make provisions for various training programs for teachers and principals to enhance their understanding of curriculum and delivery mechanism and other professional qualities. This workshop was in that direction.
Prominent among the resource persons were Dr. K Elangovan, Assistant Innovation Director, Innovation cell AICTE, Ministry of Education, Government of India. Dr. Ravi Poovaiah, instrumental in pushing for open sourcing of design and design education in schools. Rupa Chakravarty, founder principal of Scincity World School and a teacher of English having experience of teaching CBSE and Cambridge.
The one day orientation session provided insights into various topics and exposures (to teachers) like Introduction to DT & I, Assessment Matrix. The innovative sessions were handled by mentors from the IITs.
Apart from the physical sessions, online sessions were also included.
