Women Finish 8th at Middlebury Winter Classic

MIDDLEBURY, VT
– Senior Denesha Lafontant earned herself a second-place finish on the triple jump, while the Union College women’s track and field team finished in eighth place overall against a mix of divisions, at the Middlebury Winter Classic on Saturday afternoon.
Lafontant earned a second-place finish in the triple jump, recording her best jump of the season with a 10.37m leap. Senior Leila Warde had herself a busy afternoon. Warde’s best finish came in the 60m hurdles, when she clocked a 10.29 and finished in fourth. Warde also earned herself a ninth-place finish in the high jump with a 1.40m jump.
Sophomore Gabby Baker raced to a fifth-place finish in the 400m dahs, clocking a 1:03.79 for fifth place overall. Classmate Marley Froe raced to a sixth-place finish in the 200m dash. Froe crossed the line with a 27.35.
In the 4 by 400m relay, the team of Baker, Froe, senior Caroline Stanton and sophomore Cat Dacey raced to a fifth-place finish, clocking a 4:27.07.
