FLINT, MI — Three Flint-area colleges are teaming up to host a College and Career Kickoff event downtown next month.
The University of Michigan-Flint, Kettering University and Mott Community College are hosting the event from 6 pm to 8 pm on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Riverfront Conference Center, 1 Riverfront Plaza, in downtown Flint.
It’s an event designed to help high school students and young adults choose a career path or pursue higher education, according to a news release from Mott Community College.
The event will include refreshments and giveaways for attendees. Some attendants will also receive door prizes.
Financial aid and admissions teams from each of the Flint-area colleges will be at the event to provide information on choosing the right college, application processes, FAFSA and financing your degree.
“This event is a first for the area as we are bringing together such a vast array of organizations with the common goal of preparing the next generation for bright and successful futures,” said Patti Yorks, Genesee County Career and College Access Network coordinator. “There are many paths to success and our job is to equip learners with the tools they need to make informed decisions for life after high school.”
Those who are interested in attending can RSVP online at this website.
