Be it in the cities or villages, malls, fast food joints and even the mobile food carts at every nook and corner have the online payment facility to facilitate easy payment for goods and eatables, ordered or purchased. Cashless payment done directly from your mobile phone helps avoid constant cash withdrawals from the bank or carrying sufficient cash in your wallet.

This practice of online payment by using popular apps has slowly moved to the entertainment industry and has helped not only those willing to buy a ticket for a film or a tiatr, but also those who had to face umpteen difficulties in selling tickets on a daily basis. at the ticket counter.

Earlier, the tiatr director had to employ a person in order to carry out the sale of tickets of his production. And after the show, the person concerned would hand over to the director the amount collected on the sale of tickets and return home with the commission promised to him.

On the other hand, the spectators willing to watch a tiatr of their choice also had to take the trouble of traveling all the way from their residence to the ticket counter at the auditorium and book their tickets personally. And if the show was declared houseful, then they would be forced to return home disappointed, without

any entertainment.

But now with the online payment facility easily available, the tiatr director can singlehandedly tackle the sale of tickets without getting the middlemen involved in it. And simultaneously, the audience too can do the booking of tickets online, and well in advance, and enjoy the show without any inconveniences.

The experiment of online booking of tickets and payment was tried out by some of the tiatr directors and they found it to their advantage and convenience of the tiatr fans. They spotted many spectators willing to do the booking of tickets, including the payment online, thus avoiding the hassle of traveling personally to the auditorium for the same.

Pascoal de Chicalim tried the online payment exercise for his tiatr ‘Anj Boddvo’ after the pandemic. And when he continued with his new production, ‘Hanv Goemcho Saiba’, he found much success and many tiatr viewers booked and paid for their tickets via online facility. The same viewers later collected their respective tickets from the director backstage on the scheduled day of the show.

Every time Pascoal de Chicalim stages his tiatr, he said that he keeps two books of tickets with him for online booking, apart from leaving the rest at the ticket counter. “The tiatr directors as well as the tiatr viewers should take advantage of this scheme of online facility, which will be beneficial and convenient to both and in the long run it will definitely help for smooth presentation of tiatrs,” says Pascoal.

Peter / Roshan also tried the same experiment with their earlier tiatrs ‘Hero’ and ‘Uzo’ and now with ‘Atam Tem Mhojem’, and they found that many tiatr viewers were interested in online booking and payment of tickets. “Many employed viewers coming from distant places cannot afford to come personally to book their tickets so they prefer to book online and once that task is complete, they just have to collect the tickets from the counter and walk straight to the auditorium,” explains Peter. .

“Through online booking and payment double ticketing also gets easily avoided, much to the convenience of the viewers. Earlier, there would be a lot of confusion with tickets of the same letter of the alphabet or number being issued to two different people. And then there would be commotion in the auditorium. But now, thanks to online payment apps that conflict has been sorted out through online booking, ”he adds.

Peter also says that many spectators, especially the younger generation, do not want to take the trouble of carrying cash in their wallets. He says, “So the online payment facility becomes very convenient for them and it saves travel, energy and time. The other advantage of online booking for the tiatr director is that it gives you a clear picture of how many tickets have been booked and sold for each show. ” According to him, there have been more online booking of tickets with online payment as compared to bookings done personally at the ticket counter.

Joel Fernandes from Velim is presently working on an app whereby the booking of the tickets for all the tiatrs will be easily done directly through the website in the near future. “And if all the tiatr directors come together and support this new project, then it will be a big success just as it is with regard to the films screened on a daily basis at various multiplexes,” says Joel.
