Applications for grants totaling £175,000 for British equestrian centres, community groups and organizations have been opened in an effort to support riding centers still suffering the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

British Equestrian’s Together Fund is using funding from Sport England to support growth and engagement in physical activity of those participant groups most affected by the events of Covid-19. This includes people from lower socio-economic groups, people with long-term health conditions, culturally diverse communities, and those with disabilities.

British Equestrian (BE) said it was keen to work with centers that are affiliated with or registered with its member bodies in order to support projects that meet the criteria of this fund, such as Changing Lives Through Horses or the Riding for the Disabled Association’s Tea with a Pony.

Organizations that are not affiliated with BE but still meet the criteria are also welcome to apply for the Together Fund.

BE said a maximum of £10,000 is available for any single award.

“We are very grateful to Sport England for providing BE with further funding so we can support Equestrian Centers to grow and recover from the pandemic,” said Mandana Mehran Pour, BE’s Head of Participation.

“Our hope is that the Together Fund will enable people from those communities most impacted by Covid-19 to enjoy the immense benefits of riding and being around horses.”

The Together Fund follows the success of the Tackling Inequalities fund, set up in April 2020, which provided funding to centers affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. It is designed to enable further recovery and growth of organizations up until March 2023.

More information and guidance on eligibility are available in a guidance documentwhich includes a link to the application form.
