Mothers are now bringing solutions and change to our day-to-day problems with the startups they founded or are co-founders of, while they also have to be a mom to their children.

Mothers and Running Startups
It comes even as the working world has not been so favorable for most mothers out there.
There’s even this thing called “the motherhood penalty,” as per a news story by Forbes. Essentially, it brings a prevalent and unfair bias against working moms, assuming that they are less committed to their jobs.
In addition to that, the news outlet even pointed out that mothers generally receive lower salaries than their peers.
Mothers Who Run Startups
Despite these bleak realities that our moms out there have to face, there are mothers who are now leading the way with their successful startups, changing the business landscape.
It is worth noting that these startups are solving problems these days, such as digital ticketing and carpool schedules.
Julia Hartz: Eventbrite CEO and Founder
According to a report by Business Insider, the CEO and co-founder of the digital ticketing firm, Eventbrite, is Julia Hartz, who is a mother and wife as well.

Hartz is working alongside his husband who previously had the CEO role in Eventbrite. Under her leadership, the value of the digital ticketing platform has already ballooned to a whopping $ 1 billion.
On top of that, Hartz together with her husband, Kevin, were also raising their two kids, while they lead their startup to the massive success that it is today.
Adi Tatarko: Houzz CEO and Founder
Another startup founder and CEO is none other than, Adi Tatarko of Houzz.
It turns out that Tatarko got inspired by her motherhood role when she and her husband decided to take on the challenge of creating a startup for home redecoration.
Tatarko was then planning to remodel their house. But fast forward to today, the website of Houzz already garners a whopping 40 million monthly visitors.
The girl boss shared to Huffington Post that she still balances her time with her three kids while also leading her own startup.

Carolyn Yashari Becher, Janelle McGlothlin, Joanna McFarland: HopSkipDrive Founders
These three mothers, Joanna McFarland, Janelle McGlothlin, and Carolyn Yashari Becher have joined forces to co-found a startup that would change how to carpool scheduling works.
The triumvirate of HopSkipeDrive has children ranging from ages 4 to 12. So, they used their wisdom of motherhood to create the “Uber for kids,” which should help parents book rides for their young minds.
The service is still on a limited run, but it has successfully launched in locations like Los Angeles and Orange County.
