Men’s Crew Finishes Season With Great Adirondack Cup Race

LONG LAKE, NY – The Union College men’s crew team completed their season with the Great Adirondack Cup race against Saint Lawrence University Sunday morning at Long Lake.

After a day of practice and camaraderie with the Saints, the two schools were greeted with choppy water and beautiful weather on race day.

No times were kept in the event between the two teams. The Second Varsity 8+ finished a boat and a half length behind the Saints. The team consisted of first-year Sarah DeRosa (coxswain), sophomore Giani DiGennaro (stroke), junior Leo Gagliardi (7 seat), first-year Miles Fee (6 seat), first-year Grant Bouvin (5 seat), first-year Josh Vaidman (4 seat), first-year Conor Fryer (3 seat), first-year Xander Forsyth (2 seat), and senior Isaac Neustadt (bow).

The First Varsity 8+ ended with a tie after a late sprint by the Dutchmen closed the gap for the photo finish. In the boat was sophomore Tony Griffin (coxswain), junior Christopher Ringer (stroke), junior Aidan Kask (7 seat), first-year Zachary McConnell (6 seat), first-year Alex Chan (5 seat), sophomore Harrison White (4 seat), sophomore Braman Cronin (3 seat), sophomore Ethan Conrad (2 seat), sophomore Cole Abdinoor (bow).

Today’s race marked the final collegiate race for Neustadt. The Dutchmen look forward to returning to the water in the fall.
