Manjimup residents launch Fun for Charity Show to raise money for community organizations

A group of Manjimup residents are hosting two nights of comedy, dance and music to raise money for community organizations.

The Fun for Charity Show will feature comedy skits, dancing and music by local volunteers in the Manjimup Town Hall across two nights from November 4.

The Manjimup-Bridgetown Times met with the show’s committee, who said the event is intended to be a night of fun that will make people feel good while raising much-needed funds for local community organizations.

The group formed in 2010 fundraising for the Cancer Council but has decided to give back locally this year.

FCS secretary Tracy Ladhams said the group originated in president Ron Quaife’s shed in Middlesex, 10km south of Manjimup, with a group of friends who wanted to do something to help people less fortunate.

Since the group’s establishment, there have been four shows that have raised a whopping $39,000 in total.

This year, Ms Ladhams said the group expected to raise more than $15,000 for community organizations.

The committee is currently looking for sponsors to donate to their auctions which will help raise a significant amount of funds across both nights.

Tickets will be on sale from October 15 and cost $30. They are available at Mensland Manjimup and via Ms Ladhams on 0419 921 483.
