Douglas County communities plan 2022 Fourth of July events – Superior Telegram
SUPERIOR – The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and communities in Douglas County are busy preparing for celebrations.

July 4: The city’s 25th annual Fourth of July celebration will kick off at 11 am with a parade on Belknap Street. The Dennis VanAlstine Memorial Car and Motorcycle Show will take place on Tower Avenue from Belknap to Broadway streets. Aftershock will perform at 1 pm, followed by the Border Town Betties Pin Up Contest at 3 pm, music by John Seguin at 4:30 pm, awards and prizes at 5 pm, and another performance by Seguin at 5:30 pm The festivities move to Barker’s Island at 6 pm with live music from Born Too Late, followed by a performance from PopROCKS! at 8:15 pm Fireworks will be launched at 10 pm

July 2: The Dragin ‘Tail Race 5 mile walk / run for the Lake Nebagamon Volunteer Fire Department begins at 8 am The street dance starts at 8 pm and features Stone.
July 3: The boat parade will start at 8 pm, followed by fireworks at dusk
July 4: An Air Force flyover will happen at a time to be determined (it will be announced). Crafts and vendors will be available from 11 am to 4 pm Kids games start at 1 pm, and the Fourth of July parade kicks off at 4 pm
Gordon Good Neighbor Days
July 1: A thrift sale and flea market run from 8 am to 6 pm, thrift sale and flea market. The Gordon Historical Museum and Depot is open to visitors from 10 am to 4 pm A corn hole tournament starts at 6 pm
July 2: The Gor-Don-A-Thon 5K run kicks off at 8:05 am, with registration taking place from 7-8 am A continental church at Presbyterian Church runs from 8-11 am The historical society hosts an ice cream social from 10 am to 2:30 pm, and the Gordon Historical Museum and Depot will be open to visitors from 10 am to 4 pm The car show on Finstad Drive runs from 10 am to 2:30 pm, and the Gordon Fire Tower will be open for public climbing from 10 am to 4 pm The Christmas in July parade rolls at 2 pm A duck race in the Eau Claire River off the Douglas County Road Y bridge starts at 4 pm Kids can take part in races and games at 7 pm Last Call will perform from 8 pm to midnight. Fireworks will be launched after dark from Warner Park.
July 3: The Gordon Fire Tower will be open for public climbing from 10 am to 4 pm, and the Gordon Historical Museum and Depot will be open to visitors during that time, as well. A historical walking tour that begins and ends at the depot will run from 10 am to noon. A mud volleyball tournament will start at 11:30 am, with registration at 10 am

Three Lakes Community Center
July 2: A road parade will travel around Dowling and Amnicon lakes at noon. Participants should line up at the intersection of Tri Lakes and Finn Point Roads at 11:30 am The Dowling Lake boat parade takes place at 3 pm; the Amnicon Lake boat parade takes place at 4 pm Line up and registration near the dock at The Backyard on Amnicon Lake begins at 3:30 pm Prizes will be awarded for all three parades. Fireworks begin at dusk on Lake Amnicon.
July 3: A mixed four-person golf scramble and steak dinner will take place at Pattison Park Golf Club. Sign ups will be taken at the clubhouse course.
July 4: Canoe and kayak races begin at 1 pm on Lake Amnicon. Participants should meet at the Lake Amnicon Landing at 12:30 pm Single and double kayaks; two person canoe teams; prizes awarded.
July 2: A parade takes place at noon on Main Street and Railroad Street. This year’s theme is Happy Days through the Years. A fireworks show will take place over Upper St. Croix Lake at dark.
