Digital platform PT SportSuite is leading a relaunch of SQUASHTV that will include additional livestreams of global tournaments and new cloud services to manage video content on the Professional Squash Association website.

According to Professional Squash Association CEO Alex Gough, visitors to their website made 2.6 million requests for video during the 2021-22 season and viewed 69 million minutes of either live or on-demand content. When SQUASHTV is relaunched in the coming weeks for the 2022-23 season, PT SportSuite expects to stream over 800 live matches, 5,000 on-demand matches and more than 600 total broadcast hours to fans.

Although SQUASHTV has broadcast parts of the PSA World Tour for 13 years, the new platform intends to have full match replays, highlights, coaching tips, exclusive content for premium subscribers, player profiles and individual player-specific content. Users will also have the option of tagging players to their specific matches through the new cloud services.

The Professional Squash Association, the sport’s world governing body, has previously partnered with Sports Data Labs to capture player metrics that can be used during broadcasts. The data is collected from players wearing sensors on their chest and then disseminated to broadcasts in real time through Sports Data Labs’ platform.
